The Sixth Annual Olds College International Women’s Day Brew Has Arrived!

This Sundress Has Pockets is a Session New England Pale Ale (NEPA) style brewed by first and second year female students from our Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management Diploma program.

The recipe, created by second year student Chelsea Severson, features Pink Boots Society Yakima hops and Vermont Ale Yeast. Olds College head brewmaster Jason Popesku and brewery assistant Sean Bieri,  provided guidance and support during the recipe creation and brewing process.

“I really wanted to show off the Pink Boots hop blend because the blend this year is so delicious. It has a tropical, herbal and citrus aroma, so a New England style beer was an obvious choice,” remarks Severston. “I went a little lighter on alcohol and bitterness to create a beer that people can drink a few of at a time and still enjoy the last sip just as much as the first. I wanted this to be a beer that can enhance any experience — adventuring, doing hobbies, walking the dog, or just hanging out around the house. I think we achieved that goal.”

This Sundress Has Pockets will be available for purchase in the Olds College Brewery Retail store on March 11.
