Online Resources

  • Yes absolutely!
  • Most post-secondary institutions are transitioning to new library platforms in 2025.  This may have an impact on items available to borrow from other post-secondary institutions for Olds College students, instructors, faculty and staff.  If you have a library item you would like and it’s not available for interlibrary loan, please contact Jen Awde (jawde@oldscollege.ca or 403-507-7940) to recommend a purchase for the Olds College Library.
    • You can place holds on books currently signed out, or request books through Inter Library Loan
    • Search for and find the item your want to place a hold on
    • In the item record screen choose “Place Hold”.
    • You will then be prompted to enter your Patron ID number from your student ID card
    • You will then be redirected to login through Azure Single-Sign-on (same as your OC Moodle)
    • A confirmation will appear and you will be contacted by email when the item arrives.
  • Olds College Students

    • Registered Olds College students may borrow an unlimited number of items from the Olds College library for at two week period.
    • Your student ID card is your library card. You MUST have your id card with you to borrow items from the Library.
    • Four renewals are permitted on books from Olds College, unless there are holds on the items.
    • Exceptions are “reserve” items which have specific and varying loan periods.
    • Fines are charged on all items borrowed from the Library
    • Overdue fines will apply for any items which are kept past the due date.
    • Visit the Olds Municipal Library for a free public library card! Explore their extensive collection for your entertainment. Visit oldslibrary.ca for more information!
    • If you are a member of your local public library, you can request a free TAL card from that library and use it to borrow from Olds College Library.
    • Members of the community are welcome to borrow up to ten books for a two week period with two library renewals.

Please note, the Learning Commons is closed on all statutory holidays and long weekends.

The 24/7 access area is available for authorized student use.
