Olds College Centre for Innovation (OCCI) is working on a project to help reduce seed loss in straight-cut canola operations.
The OCCI research team will analyze header loss using the Geringhoff TrueFlex Razor Air — with and without vertical side knives — and compare it to a non-air system along with a competitor's conventional model. Losses will be gathered, calculated and compared through an experimental design of small plots to see the effectiveness of the machinery.
The trials will take place during the 2024 harvest season.
