What can you expect from this program/course?
All Alberta sales outlets selling Domestic Class Lawn and Garden Pesticides must employ a Certified Pesticide Dispenser. Lawn and Garden Pesticide Dispenser Certification ensures that consumers have access to correct information regarding pest control and that someone at each retail outlet has knowledge of pesticide sales regulations and safety requirements. Certificate holders will not be pest control experts, but will be familiar with pesticides, pesticide safety, provincial regulations and provincial reference materials.
Length of Program: The Lawn and Garden Pesticide Dispenser home study course is available at any time throughout the year allowing you to study the course at a time convenient to you in the comfort of your home and to write the certification exam at a location close to home. Online exam proctoring is available with Olds College.
Registrants have up to one year from the date of registration to complete the exam.
Delivery Method: Home study, on-campus group tutorial, onsite group tutorial, or online group tutorial. Online group tutorials also include online exam proctoring following the tutorial.
Location: Tutorials can be facilitated at your corporate office, online with participants at their own computer, or at Olds College. Home Study packages will be mailed to the company representative and must be distributed to participants at least 1 week prior to the tutorial.

Registration Deadline: Continuous Registration
As of January 2016, Lawn and Garden Pesticide Dispensers holding a certificate issued prior to January 2012 will be required to recertify. Certifications are valid for five (5) calendar years dated on the applicant's birthday.
