Olds College Centre for Innovation (OCCI) researchers are evaluating different solutions for the Olds College Smart Farm to collect equipment data for field operations with different manufacturers remotely. Researchers are using various application programming interfaces (API), wireless and remote collection devices to collect equipment data from various farm activities.
This project would help find a solution for producers to collect raw equipment data from mixed equipment fleets or custom operators. The goals of this project are to evaluate remote telematic data collection methods and devices, develop a telematics comparison chart, and make recommendations for use of telematics for the Smart Farm.
