Awards for New Students

This year Olds College is giving out about $215,000 in Entrance Awards!
  • These awards have to be applied for using our Entrance Award On-Line Application Form.
  • If you are eligible for these awards you will receive correspondence after you are admitted and have a Student Identification Number issued by Olds College.
  • The deadline to apply for these awards is August 15th.

 

2010-2011 Entrance Award Criteria

  • You must be an admitted student from Central Alberta
    (have a current permanent address in Central Alberta or have graduated from a Central Alberta high school) entering an eligible program
    OR
  • You must be entering into the Business Administration program.

Eligible Central Alberta Communities

Additional Criteria

  1. Students must be admitted to Olds College and apply for the award prior to August 15, 2010.
  2. Students must enroll as a first year full time student at Olds College Campus or Olds College Calgary Campus for Fall 2010.
    1. A student must maintain a 60% or higher course load per semester to be considered "full-time enrollment" for an undergraduate student at Olds College.
  3. The following programs are NOT eligible for Entrance Awards:
    • TVP
    • Academic Upgrading
    • Apprentice programs
    • Equine Science
    • Animal Health Technology (on-campus)
    • Farrier Science
    • Continuing Education classes.
  4. Students are only eligible for more than one entrance award if the Olds College Director of Health and Wellness awards an Athletic Entrance Award.
  5. All Entrance Awards are divided so that the student receives two equal allotments at the end of September and the end of January providing they meet all other award criteria contained here.
  6. If the student withdraws from their program prior to the successful completion of a semester the award is forfeited.
  7. Awards may not be deferred from one year to the next.
  8. Students must maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative G.P.A. at Olds College to keep awards between fall and winter semesters.
  9. Students may make an appeal to the College Awards Committee regarding the loss of an award or any of the award decisions.
  10. Children of Olds College employees/faculty members, who are receiving tuition waivers from Olds College, are not eligible for Entrance Awards.
