What is the AG Degree Club?

by Crystal Blake on January 11, 2012

Funny you should ask what the Ag Degree Club is the Ag Degree Club is a club on Olds Campus that consist of all the Agribusiness Degree students. They elect four new executives every year since they are only on campus for one school year and on a directed field study for the other. They also have to elect a faculty advisor which helps guide the club in the right direction, and gives support where needed.

The main purpose of the Ag Degree Club is to provide the group of individuals with the opportunity to meet their classmates as well as plan trips to expand their knowledge in the Agribusiness sector. The group holds meetings as they see they need them to discuss club business. They are currently working on planning a trip, getting club clothing, and figuring out what it takes to make a club run smoothly. From dealing with people, to finances to different peoples interests, it is defiantly an interesting learning experience. Some ideas of trips for the year are visiting dairy, or beef farms, a cheese plant, and much more. It is an excellent opportunity for these individuals to work together to make something happen that will positively affect their experience here at Olds.

Thanks,

Crystal
