Only 1 year and 212 days until over 60 competitors from 30 countries lower the plow at Olds College for the 2013 World Plowing Championship.
Canada West Equipment Dealers Association (CWEDA) announced that they would be sponsoring $25,000 for the event in 2013.
CWEDA represents over 450 farm industrial and outdoor power equipment dealers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. “We are pleased to put our support behind the 2013 World Plowing Championship at Olds College; an event that brings competitors from all over the world to Alberta. This competition is a great opportunity for us to display some of our trusted farming practices and the equipment commonly used in Canada’s prairies.”
The 2013 World Plowing Championship will be an integral part of Olds College’s 100th Anniversary celebration. The competitors, who will vary in age range, will compete in conventional and reversible plowing classes on both stubble and grass plots, and once the results have been compiled, a winner will be announced in each class.
