Student PEER TUTOR – 2013/2014
Hourly Rate: $13.00
The Learning Centre at Olds College is seeking students to provide PEER one-to-one tutoring sessions during the 2013-14 school year.
At a minimum, PEER tutors are required for the courses and subject areas listed below. (Please note that additions and deletions may result pending finalization of the Fall, 2013 and Winter, 2014 Schedules.)
Responsibilities of the PEER tutor include meeting with student(s) to help the students with their learning and understanding of course content and concepts and comprehension. Peer Tutor(s) work with students on an individual basis. Scheduling is based on student availability and may include day or evening hours. Total hours will not exceed 6 hours per week.
The successful candidate will have quantifiable mastery in a subject area or in one of the courses listed above. The candidates will report to the Learning Centre Manager, but may also collaborate with the instructor(s) from time-to-time. The ideal candidate(s) will be dynamic with strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, proficient skills with MSWord and Excel, and the willingness to work as a member of a team.
