“By signing this agreement with SLU, we are providing Olds College students with the opportunity to expand their world-view and help them find success through cross-cultural collaboration,” comments Debbie Thompson, Vice President, Academic and Student Experience. “Partnerships with post-secondary institutions who are globally-minded and future focused help us in achieving our social purpose of ‘transforming agriculture for a better world.’”

As part of the agreement, each institution will provide up to two students an academic year, an immersive educational experience. Students are nominated by their institution and will have to complete one year of full-time studies to be eligible.

“This is an important addition to our portfolio of Canadian exchange universities. Olds College can offer just the educational experience that many of our students are looking for. We also really look forward to welcoming more Canadian students to our campuses,” comments Geir Löe, International Strategist at SLU. “Olds College offers quality hands-on education in close collaboration with the industry, in a cultural and climatic context with both similarities and differences to Sweden. Students taking part in this exchange will surely  be better equipped to work for a more sustainable world.”

Located in Uppsala, Sweden, SLU is a world-class international university that conducts education, research and environmental monitoring and assessment in collaboration with society at large. Through their focus on the interaction between humans, animals and ecosystems and the responsible use of natural resources, they contribute to sustainable societal development and good living conditions on our planet.
